A small but terrifying personal experience was the driving force behind creating 'Rosalie'. While I had never taken mushrooms, the idea of losing control has always haunted me.
Rosalie explores the unpredictable nature of psychedelics and the fragile line between control and chaos. I was drawn to this story because it gives us a raw glimpse into the human psyche under duress.
The film’s central character, Rosalie, is portrayed by Carolyn Saint-Pé (The Favourite), whose work had captivated me for some time. I also collaborated with the brilliant Julie Ghallab, whose ability to balance disorientation with fear was important in creating the tension that defines the film.
